In a span of 3 hours, the Citizenship Tour students met with four U.S. Senators at the Capitol Building. Our group had unforgettable sessions with Senator Cory Booker, Senator Kamala Harris, Senator Richard Blumenthal, and Senator Heidi Heitkamp…all before lunchtime!
Later in the day, we met with New York Times columnist David Brooks to discuss his role as a journalist, writer, and political commentator.
As a celebration of the 8-day journey, our students enjoyed a Citizenship Tour Reception at the University Club of Washington DC to meet with supporters and friends of urban squash and share their experiences.
What a day!
